The rebuild of the Montreal Canadiens took another significant step this week after GM Kent Hughes acquired a conditional first-round draft pick in 2025. That gives Montreal five first-round picks over the next three drafts. Hughes was in a position to receive this asset due to LTIR cap space potentially provided by Carey Price's lingering knee injury.
